Sensory Stimulation Activities

The overall purpose of sensory stimulation is to improve the interaction between our residents and caregivers. It is the activation of one or more of the senses such as taste, smell, sight, touch, or hearing. Sensory stimulation is a key component for improving the quality of life for a person living with dementia. Most of our residents here at Harbor House enjoy many of our activities and each serves its purpose. Whether its jewelry making to focus on fine motor skills, pet therapy, or even coloring to work on the creative aspects of the brain.
