Our Response To The COVID-19 CoronaVirus

Response To The COVID-19 CoronaVirus

Oyster Bay Senior Campus has always put the care, safety and well-being of residents first. This was evident from the very first confirmed case of the Corona Virus in the United States. We have taken extreme proactive measures in an effort to protect our residents from this unanticipated threat. Please be aware that we take the threat of this illness seriously and will continue to educate our staff of any new developments and take the necessary precautions. In addition to our standard policy and procedures regarding infection control, we are adding additional measures for hygiene, health and safety.

As of March 3, 2020 we have implemented a no visitation policy. This policy includes those who wish to tour our communities, all vendors, families, friends and entertainment.

Our entire staff has been using their talents to ensure that our residents are happy and stimulated by filling in any gaps in entertainment caused by the lack of visitors. We have set up video conferencing to keep our residents connected to their loved ones.

We have incorporated additional protocols such as disinfecting all touchable surfaces several times a day and monitored hand washing stations at our employee entrances.

Hand washing for all of our residents has been put on a routine schedule throughout the day with oversight and monitoring for those residents who are able to complete this task independently.

Staff members are receiving additional education to remind them of infection control procedures, as well as current information regarding COVID-19.

We will continue to add preventative measures as needed and as recommended by local, state or federal health agencies

Preventing the spread of disease is up to everyone, we greatly appreciate the cooperation of our residents families, our staff and all those who have supported us during this crisis.
